WEEK 3

3/05/2021

For our third week of lessons, we went back to review our first product design that we have chosen to work on in week 2. After much thought and consideration, we have decided that our first product design was not suitable enough as it was beyond our ambitions to chemically create a detergent made out of environmentally-friendly resources. We had to scrape off our first idea and look for a new idea with motor operated parts to work on instead.

Finally after frantically researching online and using SCAMPER, we have decided on a new product design to work on, an automated cat litter box, that would ease cleaning as well as reduce odors. Despite how there are many of these products that have already been designed and sold in the market, majority of them does not work as efficiently from the reviews that we have read online as well as update our literature review we have started on last week. Hence, we would improvise on those products that have been sold in the market and create a more efficient automated cat litter box.

We have also used the COWS decision matrix  as well as the feasibility analysis template to help us decide and finalize our chosen product as seen in the tables inserted below:

Our group has also sketched out ideas on how the automated cat litter box would look like to help us vision our end product and allow us to visualize our product better.
